Mobile apps as touchpoints in a service system

In September 2011 I had the pleasure to be invited by my good friend and augmented citizen Dan Romescu (@dromescu), a world-travelling mobile tech guru, to the Eastern-European Mobile Monday summit in Bucharest, Romania.

The event, which gathered several hundred highly talented mobile developers and small companies mainly from Eastern Europe was sponsored bya series of device manufacturers, Telco operators & other mobile services companies. (They know why they do that….they need the developer’s talents to create content for monetizing their networks & devices..)

Service Design Network Conference 2010: Workshop on Public Service Design

In October 2010 I attended the Service Design Network conference in Berlin, which was my 3rd yearly SDN conference in a row.  Like always, it was a pleasure to meet & network with my friends & fellows from all over the world (every continent was represented, amazing !). When you are part of a community of practice and if people who belong to this community don’t live all just around the corner, it’s great to have occasions for real meetings where you can have exchange on common experiences in a concentrated but relaxed atmosphere. No Twitter-Linkedin-Facebook-Foursquare-Skype or whatever social e-mashup can replace these physical meetings and gatherings.
